Firenze SMN Original Typeface
Firenze SMN is a custom typeface I designed based on the lead-cast capital letters used for signage in the Santa Maria Novella train station in Florence, Italy. The type is inspired by the principles of Italian rationalism in order to mimic the architecture of the station. I expanded from the letters found in the station to create a full character set, then further expanded to three styles: Text, Display, and Outline.
