Calder Custom Wordmark

Pace Gallery published the catalogue Calder: Small Sphere and Heavy Sphere to coincide with an exhibition of Alexander Calder’s works in 2019. I designed a custom wordmark for the cover and title page of the book, which references an exhibition poster printed for a Calder exhibition in Paris in 1932. I researched similar typefaces from that period and designed the letterforms to allude to the poster while remaining crisp and refined.
